Nigerian comedian and actor Bovi has finally addressed the long-standing speculations about his relationship with fellow comedy star, Basketmouth. In a recent interview, Bovi made it clear that there is no bad blood between the two, stressing that their reduced closeness is simply due to changing interests and career directions.
According to Bovi, he has moved his focus towards family, film, television, and building his own independent brand, which naturally required him to step away from constant collaborations. He explained that working in groups often comes with sharing revenue, and at this stage in his career, he prefers to have full control and financial independence over his projects.
“I’m cool with Basketmouth, nothing happened,” Bovi said. “Interests changed, I wanted to elevate myself. At some point, you also want to stand on your own — why should I go and share money?”
Bovi emphasized that while he still respects Basketmouth and their history together, his career path has simply evolved in a different direction. His clarification puts to rest rumors of a feud, showing that their separation is more about growth than conflict.
