Nigerian comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, popularly known as Seyi Law, has revealed that his support for President Bola Tinubu has cost him patronage and goodwill among some Nigerians. However, he says he has no regrets.

In a recent episode of the Teju Babyface Podcast, as reported by Naija News, Seyi Law — who was among the celebrities that campaigned for Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidential election — reiterated his belief that, despite the ongoing hardship and insecurity in the country, the former Lagos State governor remains the best person for the job.

The comedian argued that if President Tinubu cannot transform Nigeria, no other politician could, including the 2023 presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

Seyi Law maintained that neither Atiku nor Peter Obi would have achieved better results, citing his familiarity with their track records. He added that he looks forward to a future where his children can enjoy the long-term benefits of President Tinubu’s reforms.

He said, “Some Nigerians hate me for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They don’t even support my shows anymore. You might not support me today but I will want to be 70 and 80 and I see my children enjoying the benefits of the sacrifices I have made today.

“I tell you wholeheartedly, not with any sentiment, if Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot redirect the ship of Nigeria, no politician currently can do it. None. Not Atiku, not Peter Obi. Not with what I know about all of them.”

Phyno Denies Claims of Selling ₦10 Billion Lagos Estate or Warning Igbos Against Investment in Yoruba Land

Nigerian rapper Chibuzor Azubike Nelson, popularly known as Phyno, has debunked recent allegations suggesting he sold his ₦10 billion estate in Lagos to an Arab businessman and advised Igbos against investing in Yoruba land.

The controversy began after a post by a user with the X (formerly Twitter) handle @JustSociety4All claimed that Phyno regretted investing in Lagos, describing it as a mistake to invest in a region where Igbos are “not welcomed.”

In a swift and firm response on social media, Phyno dismissed the claims as baseless and malicious. “You are a fool for cooking up this type of lie!!! Where are you heading with this? Anwu nta,” he wrote, clearly expressing his displeasure over the misinformation.

Phyno clarified that he has not sold any of his real estate assets, nor is he under any financial pressure. He labeled the reports as “false, sensational, and grossly misleading,” urging the public to rely on credible sources for information.

Well-known for his ventures beyond music, Phyno has invested in real estate, hospitality, and fashion, with properties in Lagos, Enugu, and Abuja. Rather than divesting, he is said to be restructuring parts of his portfolio through leasing and strategic partnerships.

The post read, “Musician Phyno has allegedly sold off his ₦10 billion estate in Lagos to an Arab man from Libya. According to Phyno, it was a mistake building such an estate in Yoruba land, where he feels his people are not welcomed.

He stated, ‘The last election opened my eyes. The hatred towards Igbos is something that seems like it will last forever. Instead of building in Yoruba land, I’m relocating my estate to Enugu, where my people will make good use of it and it will remain safe for generations.’”

In response, Phyno described the report as a lie and questioned what the journalist intended to achieve with it.

He wrote, “You are a fool for cooking up this type of lie!!! Where are you heading with this? Anwu nta.”

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been remanded at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, after failing to meet the bail conditions set by an Upper Area Court.

According to Naija News, Portable was arraigned on Monday following a petition filed against him for alleged defamation of character. The court granted bail for ₦1,000,000, with two sureties required in the same amount.

The court stipulated that one surety must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN). At the same time, the other must be a property owner in a Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ilorin, supported by a valid Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).

Despite the bail being granted, the “Zazoo Zeh” crooner has yet to fulfil the conditions and was remanded in custody.

Portable was arrested on Sunday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command. His arrest was confirmed in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, who noted that the singer was taken into custody following a petition involving serious allegations, including criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement, character assassination, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and the use of abusive and insulting language.

The petition was filed by Mr. Okunola Saheed, widely known as “Saheed Osupa.”

Speaking to the press on Monday, Portable’s lawyer, Isaac Adebayo, confirmed that bail had been granted and that efforts were underway to meet the stringent conditions.

Nigerian rapper Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, popularly known as Eedris Abdulkareem, has revealed that a politician offered to sponsor his music with ₦200 million.

Eedris said the offer came after his single “Tell Your Papa” allegedly unsettled President Bola Tinubu and his son, Seyi.

In a video shared on his social media, the rapper claimed that the politician informed him of plans by the Tinubu administration to reach out and pay him to silence his criticism of the government.

However, Eedris said he turned down the ₦200 million offer, believing the politician was sent as part of a ploy to compromise him.

His words: “Okay, my people how una dey. Make I just give una very very quick update, you know. So I got a call from one criminal who was telling me that his name is Honorable. He make me hear the name self. After him talk say na Honorable, at the end of the video, I say, what’s your name again? He said Senator.

“So the idiot man was telling me that ‘I was in a meeting yesterday with Seyi and this government. They are trying to call you and bribe you. Don’t listen to them. We are going to be sponsoring you underground’.

“I say who told you that I need anything? Immediately, I hear him voice. I know say this one na send wey them send am.

“I say, I’m not interested. Him say, ‘we will give you 200 million. We will give you 200 million. Don’t even listen to them. We will sponsor you underground’.

“I say, the video wey I shoot na una sponsor me underground? Make una go sit down somewhere. I’m not interested. Wait till they worry una. So I knew immediately that this idiot was sent (sic).”
