Mo Abudu Pays Tribute To Wole Soyinka On The Occasion of His 90th Birthday

On the occasion of his 90th birthday, Nigerian filmmaker Mo Abudu wrote an homage to the renowned author Wole Soyinka.
Speaking via her Instagram page, Abudu conveyed her appreciation for the writer’s contribution to her career in the media.
She honored Soyinka’s faith in her by giving her the go-ahead to turn his classic play “Death and the King’s Horseman” into a movie, which made its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.
She also mentioned Soyinka’s 2005 debut as a guest on her chat program “Moments with Mo.”
He inspired generations of people with his steadfast commitment to truth, justice, and artistic expression, the filmmaker said.
She extended her best wishes and wished the literary legend a happy 90th birthday that was full of love and gratitude.

“Seeing it become an official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022 was a dream come true, a testament to your timeless work.

“Professor Soyinka, your unwavering dedication to truth, justice, and the power of artistic expression continues to inspire generations.
