Nigerian singer and songwriter J. Martins (real name Martins Okey Justice) has survived a severe car accident along the Enugu–Aba–Port Harcourt Expressway. Reports indicate that the crash occurred on Monday after his vehicle reportedly suffered a brake failure, causing it to veer off the road and plunge into a nearby bush.
Despite the intensity of the accident, J. Martins miraculously escaped without any injuries. In his statement to the press, the “Oyoyo” crooner described the experience as “terrible” but expressed deep gratitude to God for sparing his life. He revealed that he was undergoing precautionary medical checks to ensure there were no internal injuries.
The singer, who also serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment to the Governor of Abia State, received an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues who were relieved by the news of his safety.
J. Martins, known for hits such as “Jupa”, “Good or Bad”, and “Touchin Body”, has been a respected figure in Nigeria’s music scene for over a decade. The near-tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers on Nigerian highways and the importance of vehicle maintenance and road safety.
