The International Executive Committee of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC), on Wednesday, September 13, released the official list of nominees for the 2022 edition.

Notable Nigerian artistes were nominated at the Award scheduled for December 2022. Kizz Daniel dominated the Nigerian nominees with 5 nominations from his hit single ‘Buga’. He was nominated for “Best Male Artiste in Western Africa”; “Song of the Year”; “Artiste of the Year”; “Best African Collaboration”; and “Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Pop”.

Burna Boy, Davido, Fireboy, and Tiwa Savage got four nominations each, Burna Boy is nominated for “Best Male Artiste in Western Africa”; “Song of the Year”; “Album of the Year”, and “Artiste of the Year”.

Davido was nominated for “Best African Collaboration”, “Best Artist, Duo or Group in African Electro, “Best Artist Duo or Group in African Pop”, and “Best Male Artist in African Inspirational Music”.

Fireboy got nominations for “Best Male Artiste in Western Africa”; “Song of the Year”; “Artiste of the Year”, and “Best African Collaboration”.

Tiwa Savage got four nominations for “Best Female Artiste in Western Africa”; “Artiste of the Year”; “Best African Collaboration”, and “Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African RnB/Soul”. CKay, Rema, Pheelz, and Asake also earned multiple nominations. 

The general public voting portal for the 2022 AFRIMA edition would be open on Sunday, 25th September 2022, at 12:00pm CAT and closes at 12.00 (CAT), December 10, 2022, before the AFRIMA main awards ceremony.
